A super healthy way to start the day!

A breakfast recipe from the six-pack detox plan, this moreish meal is bursting with goodness to set you up for the day.

Firstly, oats contain absolutely no sugar, literally none. Instead, they are filled with fibre, magnesium, plant-based protein and potassium. Unfortunately, many people find oats hard to digest, even when they opt for gluten-free, and that's where the 'overnight' part comes in. 

Soaking the oats overnight, particularly in calcium and vitamin-rich Greek yogurt, makes them much easier to digest, as well as giving a sweeter taste!

This combination is excellent for heart health, digestion, and the prevention of diabetes, plus it provides an excellent base for adding seasonal fruit.

A banana and a handful of strawberries is a classic combination, providing you with potassium, antioxidants, and vitamin C, and tasting delicious. A pinch of heart-healthy cinnamon completes the dish.

Filling, protein-rich and scrumptious, overnight oats are the ideal breakfast or healthy snack on the go.

Ingredients

  • 90g oats
  • 4tbsps Greek yogurt
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 5 strawberries, sliced
  • Pinch of cinnamon

Method

  1. Mix the oats, yogurt and cinnamon in a glass, tupperware or jar
  2. Leave overnight so the oats absorb the milk
  3. Top with the banana and strawberries the next morning and eat
