Low Carb Protein Pancakes

Protein Pancakes With Banana and Raisins

One of the six-pack detox plan breakfast recipes, these scrumptious pancakes are packed with protein but low in fat, to help you slim down yet build up muscle.

Whey protein not only activates growth hormones, it also reduces the levels of ghrelin (a hormone which tells you you're hungry) in your body. Protein also comes from the eggs used to make the pancake batter, as well as selenium, vitamins D, B2, B6, B12, and minerals such as zinc, iron and copper.

Besides being a great source of potassium, bananas are excellent for digestion and lowering cholesterol, as well as bringing many other health benefits to the meal.

Raisins are dehydrated grapes, but this actually means you are getting a concentrated form of the nutrients, including B vitamins, iron and potassium. They are also a surprisingly good source of carbohydrate, so ideal for a pre-workout breakfast.

Agave nectar is similar to honey, and has a low GI, making it the ideal weight-loss sweetener.

A sweet, tasty, protein-packed breakfast to kick off your day.

  • 1 small banana, mashed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 scoop whey protein
  • 1 tsp. coconut oil
  • Handful raisins
  • Agave nectar
  1. Mix the eggs together then combine with the protein and banana
  2. Place a pan over a medium heat and grease with oil. Add a large spoonful of the pancake mixture to the pan, about 3-5 inches wide
  3. Once the pancakes begin to bubble, flip them. Cook for about 1 minute each side
  4. Re-grease the pan, as needed
  5. Serve with the raisins, chopped banana and a squeeze of agave nectar on top
